As the years have past since leaving Watertown, I've found myself reminiscing about important times throughout my childhood. Many of which occurred during my time as a camper at Camp Pequossette. Many of those memories of adolescence involved Bob. Bob was forever a fixture of my childhood, and I was lucky to have remained friends with him as the years passed. Some memories with Bob made for hilarious dinner conversation, while others highlighted what a kind, generous, selfless person he was. Bob left such an endearing and profound effect on me while I was growing up, I don't think I would be the person I am today without his guidance. He was like a big brother, and I will strive everyday to be as good of a person as Bob was. I send my love to Rick, and the rest of the Galante family. Bob will be forever missed, but never forgotten for everyone who had the honor of knowing him.

My deepest sympathies to Bobs family. I want to thank you for raising such a beautiful person who in turn touched the lives of hundreds of kids giving them a perfect example of what a great man should be. The definition of paying it forward. You should be so proud to know that through the children of so many families in Watertown his memory will live on as well as the values he shared. I can say that he created a true "neighborhood" in a time where kids don't have them as I did. Our community mourns this great loss but are better for having him a part of it. Bob was always there to be sure each and every child was treated with respect. My daughter spent over 8 years with Bob between kids in common an and camp he always made sure as a biracial child she was treated fairly Bob was one of a kind and will be so missed with the after school program and camp but he has instilled some awesome values in those children he came in contact with and I want to thank you Bob for making my baby feel special cuz she always thought u where ther bomb may u rest in peace my friend an keep one eye open for our watertown kids God bless u an your family

Bob's life represents the epitome of the ripple effect. He touched the lives of so many children in Watertown and made each child richer because of knowing Bob. His presence at Kids in Common allowed my children to love their after school time and allowed us to carry out our adult lives knowing that our kids were happy and safe. We are all very sad at this loss.

I attended the after school program Kids in Common at the Lowell Elementary School as well as the summer day camp, Camp Pequossette. Bob had a kind and loving effect on the kids under his watch, and he will be sorely missed. From after school until my parents would pick me up, Bob, his brother Rick, and the Kids in Common staff kept an eye on me and taught me some valuable lessons, all while having loads of fun. He was also one of my football coaches for Watertown Pop Warner, where he continued to instill in me the good values and positivity that I absorbed into who I am today. The news of his passing comes as a big shock to me.
He had a heart of gold and I owe it to him for being an irreplaceable part of my childhood.

Sincere thoughts with all of Bob's family and many friends. Bob had such an important impact on my son's life, at KIC, WBPW, CP. He taught him accountability in a kind way, respect through his actions, and fairness in his approach. Our family has the utmost respect for Bob. I never worried for one minute with Isaac in his care. I am sure that this story could be repeated 1000's of times over in Watertown.

While it's been a very long time since we have talked, I can still remember the days of hanging out in the basement. The long walks out to "The Gore" to hangout in the middle of the very small wooded area that we called our second home. The days when it snowed feet as opposed to inches, yet we would grab shovels to clear the basketball court to play street hockey. It's truly amazing how fast time flies by, and how quickly things can change in an instant.

Let me extend my deepest sympathies to all of you over your loss. It was always such a comfort to know Bob was at the helm watching over our kids whether at Kids in Common or the summer program. I was also lucky enough to be able coach football with Bob for 7 years and he taught me plenty about how to connect with young players. Those were glorious years with special teams…wins over Sudbury, Wakefield and Foxboro, to name a few, come to mind; and the bear hug Bob gave me after the unforgettable Lexington last second victory knocked the wind out of me. Bob could do that – knock the wind out of you – not only with a hug but with his kindness, generosity of spirit, and humility. Bob, you are forever etched in my mind walking down that hill at Casey-Parker with your big smile ready to “coach ‘em up”. Many, many thanks, my friend. Rest in Peace.
