On behalf of The Beers kids (Eddie and Frannie) we are so sorry to hear about your dad's passing..he was always so good to us...we go back to the BPD softball games and going to bars when they couldn't open on Sundays....and don't make me talk about that fake eye joke...he was a true gentleman that helped shape our lives..and will be remembered for the great man he was..
Sincerely, Cindy, Kenny, Barbara, Susan and Lorraine Beers

Bob was the Mattapan Sq. walking man when we were young miscreants drinking beer at 16 years old behind Simco's in Mattapan. After admonishing us to not bother the neighbors, a few cold beers were needed for testing at the District lab, or so we were told. We gave them up willingly. The best cop ever, I admired him then and after he retired, as he helped brother officers with retirement questions and issues for the union as a counselor. Rest in peace, Bob. A community police officer long before the term existed.
