Just a note to say that I found myself wondering about Louie DiIorio last night, so I looked him up on Google and learned that he had died in 2016. Worked with him for many years on the Living/Arts copy desk and we never had to worry about the TV magazine or the daily listings being up to date and without mistakes. Louie was totally professional and did his job well and without complaint. He was a huge BU hockey fan and invited me to games when his team played Northeastern, my team. It was always fun to see Louie at Agganis and Matthews arenas. We did a couple of Beanpot tournaments together as well and he never gloated when BU won. He was too much of a gentleman. Occasionally, we drove to
the North End and had cappuccino and pastries. He knew the owner of the Modern Pastry shop and seemingly everyone else in that neighborhood. We rarely had to pay for anything. Louie was extremely sociable, had a bright smile, soothing voice and made it his business to make his surroundings at the Globe as friendly as he was. R.I.P., Louis
