To the Sampson Family;

‘Nana’ Sampson was a warm soul, and the kind of unique and sincere spirit that you’re lucky to come across in this life. One of a kind.

She had the consummate mother’s persona. When she spoke to each person she encountered – she spoke to them as if she was their mother or their grandmother – blood relative or not. In a crowded room, she managed to connect with each and every person in that room, on an intensely personal level. She made you feel as if you were in her inner circle – even if you weren’t. She was funny. She was charismatic. She was comfortable talking to strangers – as if they were friends. She was feisty…big time. She was fearless. She loved children, and she had sharp elbows in a room full of people when many longed to hold the single baby in the room that sat contently on her lap. She had strong faith.

She had a spirit that did not age, and a limitless supply of vitality - and she gave you all of it when she greeted you - because you were the highlight of her day. She’d follow that up later with her grab-you-by-the-face good-bye kiss . In the end, she earned a life’s wish - and gracefully dodged the tearful farewells that her loved one’s now yearn for. She passed without suffering, peacefully, in sleep – three weeks to the day beyond Christmas Eve. Sleep in heavenly peace.

It has been said that the greatest of athletes take their best game and “leave it all out on the field.”

Let’s look at some of the ‘stats’ for Nana Sampson: 86 age-defying, full-of-life years. 67 years happily married. Three siblings that she loved. Beloved mother of 5 boys who modeled 5 strong families. Proud grandmother to ten grandchildren and eight great grand-children. A large and devoted extended family and countless close friends that adored her. Several trips to Europe and travel all across the USA. Thousands of choir hymns, and over 5,000 Masses at St. Patrick’s Church in Watertown that she attended. One very cool husband, who was also her best friend. She left it all out on the field.

God Bless.

Millie was a loving caring thoughtful person. Her friendship with my cousin Emma, mother Grace, and step-mother Terry brought her into my life. She was always caring and thoughtful. She will be missed by all who knew her.

My condolences to the family,
The death of a loved one is one of the most devastating experiences a person can face. At times, the loss may seem unbearable. Please know that there are those who care and more importantly Psalm 34:18 tells us that "God is near to those that are broken at heart. He is the God of all comfort. My prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Allan and Family
So sorry about the passing of Millie. She has joined many of her family and friends and will be at peace with GOD. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. It is hard to believe we won't see her beautiful and contagious smiles and feel all those hugs she gave whenever she saw you. The world has lost the most caring and loving person. The moment you met her she touched your life forever. She was an amazing friend, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt, and had enough love to give to all. I was one of the lucky ones to have her as a friend, which I will embrace the rest of my life.
I hope all the beautiful memories she left behind will help get you through this very difficult time.RIP Millie
