William Madden Obituary

William F. Madden III, age 75, of Waltham,  longtime CPA, passed away on Wednesday September 7, 2022. Devoted husband to Faye (Fisher) Madden. Loving father of Jessica Madden and Joshua Madden & his wife Mary. Cherished 'Grandpa' to Jack Bombardier.  Dear brother of Richard Madden & Helen Tencellent.

William F. Madden was known to many as Bill, Husband, Dad, Grandpa, UB, Boston Bill, Boss and Friend.  He was a lifetime Waltham resident where he went to school locally at Northeastern and Bentley, set up his accounting practice and resided in the family home for 73 years.  He developed his love of vehicles at an early age.  First riding his bicycle around town, then graduating to cars, motorcycles and more.  He always shared fond memories of his big blue Lincoln Continental, Babe, and various Honda Goldwings.  After getting married the grand travel obsession and adventure seeking really began.  He and his wife Faye purchased their beloved Winnebago, Fluffly, which became their home for years.  Together they traveled across the US seeing 45 states and were visited by friends and family along the way.  Together they made cherished memories with Helen and Don, Elaine and Joel, and Bonnie and Marilyn. As his children Jessica and Joshua grew older there were many more vacations to Pennsylvania, Florida, and eventually many family excursions to Las Vegas.  As the children grew and had adventures of their own, Bill and Faye continued to enjoy cross country motorcycle trips, adventures in North and South America and cruises around Europe.  Some of the most cherished memories included swimming with sharks, kissing stingrays and marveling at the beautiful South Pacific. As well as his yearly trip to the Polar Express with his grandson Jack. Bill always had a sense of active adventure and thrill seeking, whether skiing, bungee jumping, hang gliding, driving race cars or flylight a fighter jet with his brother Dick.  But his favorite activity was always riding his Goldwing motorcycle.  Through motorcycling he found community, made many dear friends and had many adventures, especially with his dear friend Paul.  His passion for travel on two wheels was passed to his son, Josh and they embarked on memorable adventures to Vermont, Cooperstown and the Catskills.  He also had a passion for music, whether Rock and Roll, Blues, or Bluegrass, there was always something to listen to or a concert to attend.  He will be remembered for his sense of humor and that he never took himself too seriously.  Bill was always there to make you laugh or smile, even at inappropriate times. But above all, Bill always made family a priority.  Nothing made him more happy than spending time with his beloved children Jess and Josh, and his grandson Jack.  He would always jump at every chance to try a new restaurant, go to a concert or sporting event, and play games for hours.  He taught his children to play craps, and often took trips to the casino with Jessica.  Anything was fair game, just to spend time with his two children and grandson.  Bill always lived life to the fullest and enjoyed all the little moments.  He loved everyone unconditionally, and was always there to make you smile or laugh.  He is dearly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have been touched by his presence.  We will all continue to live life to the fullest in your honor.  Ride on Bill.
