Her infamous Vineyards of Rio Maggiore commissioned and hung in Rocco’s restaurant Wilmington for decades. Sylvia loved to cook for her family, paint, assist Sal in produce display competitions that won him many prizes and acclamations. She invented a puzzle for Bingo called Blitz Blotz. Famous for her cream puffs, she’d never share the recipe. In the earlier “golden years” she loved going to bingo, her “job”. She’d win $300, tell Sal $100 and give him $100. He knew. He supported her “job”. Always keeping herself attractive, she’d come to breakfast with lipstick on to keep Sal’s attention. Many grateful thanks to Sally Fantasia who cared for Ma 24 hours a day until her last breath. And to Sarah Wade and Thereasa Cajiles for their unending love and attention to “Noni”.
