Susan (Giorgio) Carbone

             Susan (Giorgio) Carbone, age 101 passed away on April 26, 2023. Sue grew up in the North End of Boston to immigrant parents. She married Clement J. Carbone in 1945 and moved to Watertown where she lived until she was 100 years of age.

               Widowed at a young age, Sue managed to raise her two young daughters in a home filled with energy and love. She held jobs as a stitcher at the Hood Rubber plant in Watertown and then as a car assembler at General Motors in Framingham, and retiring from GTE labs where she assembled lithium batteries. Sue lived for her family and eventually saved enough money to purchase a small house on Cape Cod so that she could spend time with her grandchildren and children during the summer.

             Sue was the loving mother of Clementina Close & her husband John and Anne Patey & her husband Robert. Cherished 'Gram' to Matthew Close & his wife Sara, Jay Close & his wife Christina, Sara Intonato & her husband Ben and Natalie Marsh & her husband Ryan. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren. 

              She passed down her Italian culture and traditions to her future generations by preparing traditional Italian meals on Christmas Eve and Easter. To this day, her family continues these holiday celebrations.

           Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate Susan's life by gathering for visiting hours on Wednesday Mary 3, 2023 in the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St. Watertown from 8:30-9:30 AM followed by a 10 AM Funeral Mass in St. Patrick's Church, 212 Main St. Watertown. Burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
