Paul Donnelly, Sr. Age 91, of Watertown, passed away on Wednesday November 27, 2024. Beloved husband of 62 years to Barbara (Morrissey) Donnelly. Loving father of Anne Donnelly and Paul Donnelly, Jr. Cherished son to the late Edward & Anne (McDonough) Donnelly. Brother of the late Edward Donnelly & his wife Marie. Brother in law to Richard Morrissey & wife Helen and Jane Almquist. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
After serving his country with honor, in the US Army from 1953 - 1955 Paul embarked on a long and successful career with Stowe Woodward, where he worked for 41 years before retiring in 1997. His commitment and perseverance earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him.
In retirement, Paul found joy in spending his winters at Glen Eagle Golf and Country Club in Naples, Florida. An avid golfer, he treasured the time he spent on the course with friends and family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Paul rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his beloved Boston teams. Whether it was the Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics, or Patriots, he was their most loyal fan. Paul’s warmth, humor, and love for life touched everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate Paul’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St., WATERTOWN, on Monday December 2, from 4-7 PM and again on Tuesday at 9 AM, followed by a 10 AM Funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Church. Burial with Military Honors in Ridgelawn Cemetery.
