Patricia A. Tiernan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed peacefully on Wednesday October 24, 2022 at the age of 80 in Havana, Florida and entered fully into the presence of our Lord. She was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on April 10, 1942, to John and Katherine Redgate. She was the third of five children.
She spent her youth in the Belmont, Massachusetts. During her early years, Patricia was an excellent student and diligent worker. While in Belmont, she met her Husband, Jim Tiernan, and they had four children: Timothy, Kathleen, Sean and James. Patricia primarily worked in retail and was an excellent salesperson when she wasn’t caring for her family. She retired from the TJ Max corporation but throughout her life her primary focus was always her husband and children.
She had a great sense of humor and loved all things “Hollywood”. Patty knew more information regarding the stars than that of any Hollywood insider. Patricia’s baking was second to none and she had every gadget you could find in her kitchen. She was also a dedicated volunteer and worked for the Catholic Church, garden club and library just to name a few. Finally, her philanthropic efforts with the Native American community were profound.
She never met a stranger. Patty had a gift of making people feel comfortable and she could talk to anyone. She is survived by, her sister, four children, 9 grandchildren and her great granddaughter. Pat is loved by countless other family members and lifelong friends.
Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Pat's life by gathering for a Funeral Mass in St. Luke's Parish on Saturday at 10 AM followed by a burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
