Michelina (Giovanelli) Belli, Age 94, peacefully at Newton Wellesley Hospital surrounded by family on November 28, 2023. Daughter of the late Vincenzo and Philomena Giovanelli of Strangolagalli, Italy. Beloved wife of the late Santino Belli. Devoted mother of Natalie Vecchia and her husband Kenneth, Robert and his wife Angela, Cathy Belli Duffy and her husband the late Robert Duffy all of Newton, Eleanor Belli Vacca and her husband Michael of Watertown, and Arlene Belli Wilkie and her husband Brian of Bourne. She will be dearly missed by her granddaughters Kristen Belli DiBona, Ashley Souza and Alyssa Belli Slowey; great grandchildren Ariana DiBona, Robert DiBona and Brielle Souza. She also leaves behind several step granddaughters and step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dear sister in law of the late Arnold & Rosemarie Belli.
Michelina and her husband Santino cofounded Belli Construction, Inc., Belli Equipment, Inc., Silver Lake Industries and S. Belli Realty. She enjoyed making homemade pasta, sauce, sausages, wine and other Italian delicacies for family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, playing bocce and Italian card games. But most of all her family was her life!
She will be sadly missed by her devoted children who cared for her during the past two years with open hearts.
Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate Michelina's life by gathering for visiting hours on Sunday, December 3,2023 in the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main Street, Watertown from 2-5 p.m. and again Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. before proceeding to Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 573 Washington Street, Newton, MA for a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass. Entombment to follow in the S. Belli Family Mausoleum at Newton Cemetery.
