Lola Giampietro Obituary

Lola D. (Puntonio) Giampietro, a lifelong resident of Watertown, passed away peacefully on April 16th 2026 at Blaire House Assisted Living, Tewksbury.

Born March 24, 1926 in Watertown MA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Obedina (Nardella) and Vincenzo Puntonio, and one of 3 children alongside her late brothers Theodore and Vincent. She lived a long and meaningful life dedicated to family and recently celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends.

Lola attended Watertown High School and was described in her Yearbook as "small but peppy."  She played multiple sports at WHS and later became an avid candlepin bowler in leagues at local lanes. Lola worked and sold war bonds at the Hood Rubber company before getting married to Michael Giampietro and starting her family in Watertown. She was a great cook and hosted holiday meals over the years for extended family living in Watertown and Belmont.

Lola was the devoted wife of the late Michael V. Giampietro. They met while ballroom dancing and continued to dance together at Whalom and Norumbega Park. They settled down to make Watertown their lifelong home and raise their two children and would later buy a condo to spend vacation time together in West Palm Beach. When her children started their own families and her husband passed away, Lola immersed herself in becoming a very good landscape artist hobbyist.

Lola was the beloved wife of the late Michael V. Giampietro and devoted mother to Michael J. (Pamela) Giampietro of Gainesville FL and Julie A. (Matthew) Mulligan of Wilmington MA; loving grandmother to Michael A. Giampietro of New Zealand, Dante and Ariana Giampietro of Gainesville FL., Lauren Mulligan of Wilmington MA., and Antonio Giampietro of Cambridge MA. She also leaves behind a great grandchild Olive, in New Zealand, who, happily, she got the chance to meet not too long ago, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate Lola's life by gathering for visiting hours in the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St. Watertown on Wednesday April 22, 2026 from 4-7 pm and again on Thursday April 23, 2026 at 9 AM followed by a 10 AM Funeral Mass in St. Patrick's Church, 212 Main St. Watertown. Burial to follow in St, Patrick's Cemetery.
