Julia (Porretta) Riccio

    Julia (Porretta) Riccio, age 95 of Wareham formerly of Waltham, passed away January 12, 2025. Beloved wife to the late Gennaro Riccio. Loving mother to Gerald Riccio & his wife Linda, David Riccio & his wife Gina, Julie Cox & her husband Richard, Paula Carme & her husband Larry and Maria Matos & her husband Gary. Cherished 'Nonni' to Jessica Swensen & her husband Garth, Amanda Baudanza & her late husband TJ, Gennaro Riccio, Kristina Riccio, Gianna Riccio & her fiance Stephen Thomson, David Riccio, Christian Carme & his fiance Emerson Bennett and Marissa Matos & her fiance Drew Lorenzo; great grandmother to Grant & Graham Swensen, TJ & Aubrey Baudanza and Stephen Thomson. Dear sister of Betty Thiesing & her husband Bud and the late Guido Porretta & his late wife Jean and Flora Gemelli & her late husband John.

   Julia’s love for her family was immeasurable, and she dedicated her life to being a loving and devoted mother to her children, and a doting grandmother to her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She was always there to make home made meals, had a listening ear, a caring heart, and an open hand, offering support and guidance when needed. Her family meant everything to her, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She also truly enjoyed all the time she got to spend in her condo in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. 

    Julia was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots and a passionate poker enthusiast, two pursuits that brought immense joy to her life. Whether cheering on the Patriots from the comfort of their living room or enjoying the thrill of a poker hand with friends and family, Julia was a person who lived for the excitement of the game — both on and off the field.  

    Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate Julia's life by gathering for visiting hours in the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St. Watertown on Friday January 17, 2025 from 9 - 11 AM followed by an 11 AM Funeral Home Service. Burial to follow in Mt. Feake Cemetery in Waltham.
