Judith (DeMore) Volente

            Judith (DeMore) Volente, Age 78, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2021.  Judy leaves behind her late husband Joseph Volente, three daughters, Suzanne Morris (and Paul) of Winchester, Tracy Grillo of Watertown and Laura Grillo of Stoneham.   She was a wonderful grandmother to three grandsons, Michael, Stephen and Christian Morris.  She was a loving sister to Ed DeMore, Sally & Paul Hurley and Vincent and Dawn DeMore.  She had eight wonderful nieces and nephews with whom she shared so many fun memories.   

           Judy was born in Somerville, raised her children in Watertown, worked in Boston and lived happily on Cape Cod for years.    She achieved much in her professional life and rose from being a bookkeeper in the early days to advancing health care initiatives and rising to the rank of VP of Human Resources at Harvard Community Health Plan.  She was active in her philanthropic life, participated in political discussion groups both in Boston and Cape Cod and had an affinity for the arts and music.   Her artistic abilities blossomed during her later years under the guidance of a gifted artist who discovered she had unusual talent for painting and the intricacies of color.   

           Judy had more close friendships than we can count and left her mark on so many personally and professionally.   Judy left this world in peace and left behind so much of herself to those with whom she was close.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, professional, artist, friend, and mentor.  She loved life and lived it in a spirit of positivity, grace, style, humor and gratitude.    A private service will be held for her at the National Cemetery in Bourne.  A full celebration of her life will be held at a later time.
