    Retired Watertown Police Detective, Joseph Murphy, age 89 of Watertown, passed away on Friday November 15, 2024. Beloved husband to the late Frances (Whippen) Murphy. Loving father of Cheryl Schkuta & her husband Andrew and Joseph Murphy. Cherished Papa to George Schkuta & wife Kristi, William Schkuta (& Andrea Bedell), Jennifer Rose & husband Reese, Amanda Murphy and Joseph Murphy. Great-Papa to Madison Schkuta, Claire Rose, Meave Rose and Andrew Joseph Schkuta. Dear brother of Ann Marie Arington & her husband Richard. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.

    Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate Joe’s life by gathering for visiting hours in Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St., WATERTOWN on Thursday from 4-7 PM and again on Friday at 9:30 AM, followed by a 10:30 AM Funeral Mass in Saint Jude’s Parish. Military Honors will take place in the back of church following the Funeral Mass. Burial will be private.
