John 'Muzzy' Vatalaro, age 83, of Watertown and LA (Lower Allston), passed away on June 27, 2026. Born in Boston on December 31, 1942 to the late Ralph & Rose (LeConti) Vatalaro. Beloved companion of 27 years to Sandy O'Connor and daughter Priscilla. Loving father of John Vatalaro Jr, Suzanne Marino and Anthony Vatalaro. Cherished grandfather to John III, Jake, Melissa and Joey and great grandfather to Rose. Dear brother of Genevieve DeLuco and the late Anthony, Mike, Ralph, Mary Wable, Jean Peach, Lillian Vecchione and Rose McLaughlin. A special thank you to his loving and caring niece and nephew Jean Marie and Alan Bemis, who were so giving to John. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Former owner of Stadium Esso and Vatalaro's Exxon.
A special thank you to those at Marist hill who took such good care of John.
Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate John's life by gathering for a visitation on Wednesday July 8, 2026 from 3-6 PM. Burial will be private.
