John Piantedosi Obituary

    John 'Jack' Piantedosi, age 86 of Sandwich, formerly of Cambridge & Watertown, passed away on August 25, 2025. Beloved son to the late Cosimo and Esther (Sacco) Piantedosi. Loving brother of Robert J. Piantedosi & his wife Barbara. Cherished Uncle to  Amy Piantedosi & her husband Robert Callahan and Amanda Piantedosi & her husband James Ingenluyff. Devoted Great Uncle to Ella & Quinn Callahan and Ian & Kai Ingenluyff. 

    Jack was born on October 27, 1938 in Cambridge, MA. He grew up in the Cambridge area, where he attended Rindge Technical High School, before continuing his education at Boston University, earning his degree. His time at both institutions shaped his strong values of dedication, service, and lifelong learning.

     A proud and dedicated veteran of the U.S. Army, Jack served as a Missile Specialist, contributing to the defense and safety of his country. After completing his military service, he returned home to Watertown, where he would continue to serve his community for many years.

    Jack was a committed member of the Watertown Provincial Guard, where he held the rank of Major, and he also served as an Officer with the Watertown Auxiliary Police, dedicating countless hours to ensuring the safety and well-being of his fellow citizens. His service to his country and community was a testament to his unwavering sense of duty.

    Beyond his service, Jack had a lifelong passion for history, particularly the history of Watertown. He was an active member of the Watertown Historical Society, contributing his time and knowledge to preserving the stories and legacy of the area. He often shared his love for local history with friends and family, inspiring others to appreciate the past while looking forward to the future.

    Jack will be remembered not only for his service and dedication but for his kindness, generosity, and the deep love he had for his family. 

    Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate Jack's life by gathering for a visitation hour in the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St. Watertown on Wednesday September 3, 2025 from 10-11 AM followed by an 11 AM Funeral Home Service. Burial to follow with Military Honors in Cambridge Cemetery.
