John Mancini, age 79 of Watertown, passed away August 8, 2024. Beloved husband to his late wife Nancy (DiPizzol) Mancini. Loving father of Nicholas Mancini & his wife Kelly and David Mancini & his wife Lauren. Cherished grandfather to David Jr., Anthony, Kayla and Nicholas Jr. Dear brother of Leonardo Mancini & his wife Maria. John was born in a San Eufamia, Italy on July 2, 1945. He emigrated to the United States in 1958 with his mother Elnora (Damico), his father Pasqualino, and his brother Leonardo. John was mechanically and academically gifted. After high school, he was accepted into the University of Arizona where he graduated with a degree in Architecture. Not long after his graduation, he met his beloved wife Nancy (DePizzol) of Meriden CT.
Nancy and John settled close to his family in Watertown where he established his successful contracting business, Mancini and Sons, Construction. Over the years, he built many houses, renovations, and many commercial and industrial projects.
The recipe for John’s success was that he had a rare kindness, integrity, a keen eye for details and he would not take short cuts, even if it meant less time with his beloved family. He brought old world values to every job and would make sure his clients were 100% satisfied.
With all of John’s accomplishments, his greatest sources of pride were his two sons, Nicholas and David. He was a devoted husband, father and later, grandfather. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his family and life-long friends.
Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate John's life by gathering for a visitation hour in the Nardone Funeral home, 373 Main St. Watertown on Tuesday August 13, 2024 from 11-12 NOON. A funeral home service will take place at 12 NOON. Burial to follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery.
