John 'Johnny' Forte

    It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John “Johnny” Nicholas Forte, who departed this world on September 2, 2024, at the age of 71. Johnny was a beloved brother, a famous prankster with a generous soul, and quite the unique individual who was a source of joy and laughter to all who knew him. Born on March 25, 1953 to the late Nicholas Forte and Marie Taylor & her husband Richard. He was raised in the heart of Boston, Johnny was a true child of the city as he exhibited a remarkable flair for the fancier things in life. His adult life was a colorful tapestry woven with threads of humor, generosity, and a touch of eccentricity only Johnny could bring. As an adult, Johnny was a successful hairdresser and owned his owned salon in New Hampshire for several years. He had an uncanny ability to insert laughter and humor into the mundane moments.  Despite his playful exterior, Johnny’s heart was a wellspring of kindness who would do anything for anyone in need. His generosity extended beyond time and money; he had a rare gift for making people feel valued and loved.

    He is survived by his siblings, Linda Shields and her husband Danny, Mark Nilan and his wife Lisa, Eddie Nilan and his wife Susan, sister Marie and John Oakley as well as his late sister Diane Nilan who passed in 2023. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

    Funeral services to celebrate Johnny’s life will take place in St. Patrick's Church, 212 Main St. Watertown on Tuesday September 10, 2024, at 10 a.m.  A burial will follow immediately in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham, MA.
