Joanne (Uttaro) O'Brien, Age 88, of Waltham, passed away on October 2, 2025. Beloved wife to the late John O’Brien. Devoted mother of John O’Brien & his wife LuAnn, Kimberlee Donahue & her late husband John, Robyn Logue & her husband Brian and Tammy Bennett & her late husband Jim. Cherished “Grandma” to 7 grandchildren and “Gigi” to 9 great grandchildren. Dear daughter to the late Salvatore & Josephine Uttaro. Joanne was a dedicated member of her community, serving in a variety of roles that reflected her commitment and work ethic. She was known to many as a friendly face and watchful eye, serving as a crossing guard in Waltham. She contributed her skills in an administrative capacity, working as a secretary at Prospect Auto Sales. A role that brought her particular pride was serving for many years as the secretary for Cutler House at Newton South High School, where her organizational abilities and warmth were a fixture for students and staff alike.
Joanne married her beloved husband John on June 30th 1957 and enjoyed (63) wonderful years of marriage. Together and in the early days, they worked a variety of jobs to make ends meet. Together they were an unmatched team that was unstoppable. Family First!
