Joanne (Russo) Lessard

     Joanne M. Lessard, of Watertown,MA, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Friday, August 15, 2025 after many years of health challenges. While her decline was evident, her passing still comes as a shock to those who loved her, as Joanne was always a bright light in the room when she was at her best.

     Born in Watertown, MA, she was the daughter of Alfred and Mary (Santamaria) Russo, who predeceased her. She was also preceded in death by her beloved sister, Donna “Bunny” Russo, in 2019.

     Joanne spent her life in and around Boston, a city she loved deeply. She was the proud mother of Christopher Lessard and his wife Marsha, grandmother to Hannah, Luke, Liam, and Viviana, and great-grandmother to Aurora. She also leaves behind her cherished dog, Nala, who brought her much comfort and joy.

     Those who knew Joanne will remember her for her vibrant spirit, her love for family, and her gratitude for the people who stood by her throughout her life. She lived with both zeal and tenderness, and despite her struggles, she held on to love and connection as her greatest treasures.

   Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate Joanne's life by gathering for a Funeral Mass on Friday September 12, 2025 at 10 AM in St. Patrick's Church, 212 Main St. Watertown. Burial to follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery.
