Joan (Marchant) Bertrand

               Joan (Marchant) Bertrand, Age 81, of Watertown, passed away on May 12, 2023. Beloved wife to the late John Bertrand. Loving mother of Carol Ann Paquette and her husband, Greg and the late Suzanne Bertrand. Dear sister of Edward "Bobby" Marchant Jr. and his wife Jane, Kenneth Marchant, Alan Marchant and his wife Anne, John "Jackie" Marchant, William "Billy" Marchant and his wife, Karen, and the late Ronald Marchant and his wife, Mary; and beloved sister-in-law to Cheryl Bailey. She also leaves behind Mark Nelson and his wife, Lori; and her grand-dog, Roxie. Joanie also leaves behind many nieces & nephews
          Joan was a lifelong resident of Watertown.  She worked at Watertown Savings Bank.  Joan’s favorite job was being a lunch aid at the West Jr High, where she was referred to many generations as Mrs B.  After working as lunch aid, she moved on to working at the Town Hall.  Joan had many interests.  Among them were baking, reading, watching Family Feud, socializing.  She was proud to be the President of the Watertown Womens Club.  Before her husband John passed away, she enjoyed traveling with him.  Watertown politics was an all time favorite of Joan.  But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her loving companion Roxie.

             Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate Joanie's life by gathering for Visiting Hours in the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St., WATERTOWN, MA 02472, on Tuesday, from 4-7 PM and again on Wednesday, at 9 AM followed by a 10 AM Funeral Mass in St. Patrick's Church, 212 Main St., Watertown. Burial in Ridgelawn Cemetery.
