JoAnn Bontempo Obituary

JoAnn M. (Bagley) Bontempo passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 9, with her loving husband, Arthur R. Bontempo, by her side.

Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on February 24, 1954, JoAnn was the beloved daughter of Russell H. Bagley of Medford and Irene V. (Sullivan) Bagley of Cambridge. She graduated from Framingham South High School in 1972 and went on to build a life centered around family, friendship, and dedication to her work.

JoAnn spent the majority of her career at Polaroid in the Battery Division, where she met the love of her life, Arthur. During her years at Polaroid, she embraced every opportunity to connect with her coworkers, participating in the company bowling league, playing first base on the softball team, singing and dancing in a Polaroid musical production, and even pursuing modeling opportunities. Following her time at Polaroid, JoAnn continued her  professional career at Tufts Health, where she worked on the HEDIS reporting team until her retirement.
JoAnn had a passion for life and a wide range of interests. She enjoyed ice skating, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. She was also an enthusiastic and devoted fan of the New England Patriots. Her love for the team led her to participate in numerous fan events, including Patriots Fantasy Camp, where she proudly took part in football drills and training camp activities alongside fellow fans. Above all else, family was everything to JoAnn. Whether celebrating holidays, birthdays, shopping trips, family lunches, or simply spending time together, she cherished every moment with those she loved. Her warmth, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
JoAnn is survived by her loving husband, Arthur R. Bontempo; her stepsons, Mark Bontempo and his wife Donna, and Michael Bontempo and his wife Val Malta; and her siblings, Patricia Powell, Mary Eileen Bagley, Paula Marsh, Russell "Skip" H. Bagley and his wife Mary, and Susan Fahey.
