Jimmy Caruso Obituary

James "Jimmy" Caruso, of Watertown, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026, at Brigham and Women's Hospital. He was 93 years old.

Born on December 21, 1932, Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Watertown, where he built a life centered on family, friendship, and service. A proud Korean War veteran, he held his military service close to his heart and was honored to have served his country.

Jimmy was the beloved husband of nearly 70 years to the late Frances (DeFelice) Caruso, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and devotion. He was a devoted father to Debbie Aiello and her husband, Jim Aiello, and the late Ron Caruso. Nothing brought Jimmy greater joy than being "Grampy" to Hannah Rubio and her husband, Jose; Jess Cusano and her husband, Steve; DJ Aiello and his wife, Elena; Kelsey Margolis and her husband, Cory; and Taylor and Cody Caruso. He was also the proud great-grandfather of Anthony, Francesca, Grace, Antonia, and little Jimmy, who truly lit up his life. He loved spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often slipping a five-dollar bill into their hands with a smile when no one was looking.

One of five children, Jimmy was predeceased by his siblings Anthony Caruso, Antoniette Bataglia, Susan Woods, and Joseph Caruso. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

Jimmy never met a stranger. Known as one of the friendliest people you could ever meet, he always had a quick-witted joke ready to make someone smile. He found happiness in the simple things—taking his twice-daily walks while listening to the radio he had cleverly wired to his walker, hunting, lending a helping hand whenever someone was in need, and, above all, making people laugh. His warm heart, generous spirit, and unforgettable sense of humor touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Jimmy will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, neighbor, and friend. His kindness, laughter, and unwavering love for his family leave behind a legacy that will live on for generations.

Family and friends are kindly invited to celebrate Jimmy's life by gathering for visiting hours at the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main Street, Watertown, on Thursday August 6th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, followed by a Funeral Home Service at 12:00 NOON. Burial will follow with Military Honors in St. Patrick's Cemetery.

Though he is deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing Jimmy is reunited with the love of his life. Until we meet again.
