Jennie Gloria (Cincotta) DeFina, AGE 95, a longtime resident of Waltham and previously from Malden, passed away after a brief illness, surrounded by her loved ones on November 21, 2024. Born in Malden to the late Jacob and Rose (Cafarella) Cincotta, Jennie was raised and educated in Malden, Massachusetts. She and her late brother, Anerio (Sonny/Fred) Cincotta along with their parents had many happy memories at their home on Ellis Street. They loved to play the piano, sing Italian songs and listen to Opera. Before she was married, she was a bookkeeper for Sears Roebuck & Co. and taught piano for a while. She was a dedicated housewife and mother of 4 and loved her home, keeping house and most of all, her family. She loved music (especially Italian music), playing the piano, going out with family and friends, playing cards and going to the casino. She was a fantastic cook and always fun to be with. She was a great listener and friend and her door was always open. Jennie was called grandma, mom and auntie, not only by her kin, but by folks who knew her and felt so very much loved by her.
Jennie was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph J. DeFina to whom she was married for 49 years. She is survived by her four loving children, Debra Defina Gallagher and husband Joseph of Burlington, Richard Defina and wife Doreen Slattery Defina of Westford, Lisa Defina Diamond of Burlington and Paul Defina and wife Lisa Crane Defina of Fuquay Varina, NC. Jennie cherished the time spent with her 5 grandchildren, Kimberly Diamond O’Neil and husband Rob, Joseph Defina and wife Floriana, Stephen Defina and girlfriend Pei Qi, Christopher Defina and wife Kathrine and Matthew Defina and wife Dakotah. She adored her 5 beloved great grandchildren, Hailey, Chloe, Adam, Anthony and Finn who brought her the utmost of joy! She also leaves her loving niece Roseann Hinds Giardina and her husband, David, her nephews and niece, Anthony (predeceased), Michael and Bianca DeStefano of Waltham and her niece Catherine Cincotta.
