Jean (Slattery) Kougias

              Jean M. Kougias of Watertown, formerly of Brighton passed away peacefully on November 26, 2022.  Beloved mother of Stephen Kougias of San Diego, California and Kathryn Kougias and her husband, Thomas Hosker of Nahant, Massachusetts.  She was the loving grandmother of Kristian N. Hosker and Harrison G. Hosker. Predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Gerard Slattery; sisters, Nancy Clifford and Eileen Sullivan and her former husband Nicholas Kougias.  Jean was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.  She was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy and attended Emmanuel College and graduated from the University of Massachusetts.  Jean was a longtime employee of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Hale & Dorr.  Jean will be fondly remembered by her friends, Sheila Donovan, Clement Nolan and Johnna Lowney. Special mention to departed friend Jenny Ledwak.  Jean was a lifelong friend of Gerri and Mike Fay from their early days in Jamaica Plain and Mission Hill.    

           Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate Jean’s life by gathering for a Visitation Hour in the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St., WATERTOWN, on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, from 11:30- 12:30 PM, followed by a 12:30 Funeral Home Service. Burial to follow in Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury, MA.
