Frances (Cannuli) Stanizzi

    Frances (Cannuli) Stanizzi, age 98, passed away on May 21, 2024 peacefully at her home.  Frances was a devoted homemaker who loved to knit and bake. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

    She leaves behind her devoted son Paul Stanizzi and his partner David Buccheri of Watertown, daughter Lorretta (Stanizzi) Kehayias and her husband Peter Kehayias, son Anthony Stanizzi and his wife Christine Stanizzi, sisters Josephine Russo of Belmont, Anna D'Amico of Waltham, Grandson Frankie Kehayias and his wife Kristina Kehayias, Great granddaughter Vanessa Kehayias and Great grandson Alex Kehayias, all of Whitman, and many grandchildren, great children, nieces and nephews.

    Frances is preceded in death by her parents Joseph & Rose Cannuli, her beloved husband Salvatore 'George' Stanizzi, her sisters Marie Holland, Ida Napolitano, Rita Scalzi and her brother John Cannuli.
    Frances retired from The Polaroid Company where she worked in the Finance department. After retiring, she kept part time work at Watertown High School as a cook in the school cafeteria. She was also known as a 'Brigham Bunny', having worked for Brigham's Ice Cream Shop in Harvard Square when she was younger.
     Frances was a member of the Amvets Auxiliary for many years, as well as Catholic Charities where she also served on the Board of Directors.  She volunteered in the pre-school classrooms at the Haggerty School in Cambridge and continued volunteer work for many charities, including knitting hats and blankets for the kids in children’s hospitals in the Greater Boston area.
     Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Frances’ life by gathering for visiting hours in the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St., Watertown on Tuesday May 28, 2024 from 4 to 7 and again on Wednesday at 10:30 AM followed by an 11:30 Funeral Mass at St. Angnes in Arlington. Burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
