Eugene Saraceno Obituary

Eugene 'Gino' Saraceno, age 90 of Watertown, passed away on Sunday February 17, 2019. Beloved husband to Esther (Basile) Saraceno. Loving father of Diane M. Ray & her husband Joseph, Judy A. Antonellis & her long time boyfriend William Kavanaugh and Eugene 'Gino' Saraceno & his wife Rebecca. Cherished 'Beepa' to Joseph Ray, Timothy Ray, Melissa Antonellis, Emilia Saraceno & Luca Saraceno. Dear brother of Santo Saraceno & his wife Barbara and the late Anna Sarno, Gennaro Saraceno, Vincent Saraceno  and Richard Saraceno.

Family and friends will celebrate Gino's life by gathering for visiting hours in the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St., WATERTOWN, on Thursday February 21, 2019 from 4-6 pm. All may gather at 10 AM on Friday February 22, 2019 in St. Luke's Parish. Burial to follow with Military Honors in St. Patrick's Cemetery.

Gino retired from Boston Scientific on July 2, 1993 where he worked in Facilities Mantenance for 10 years. His favorite past time was the upkeep of his yard, his vegetable garden, being the Grill Master and tending to his swimming pool. He had the cleanest pool in the neighborhood! He loved to spend his time outdoors with his children playing kickball, teaching them how to plant and build the shed. Giving them piggy-back rides on his back in the pool.
On Saturday nights, Gino and his wife Esther would either join their friends at  the local VFW Club for a fun night of dancing and singing or they would gather with neighbors to play Pokeno. He and Esther also spent several winters in Florida where they enjoyed taking long walks, entertaining family visiting from home, going to the beach, out to dinner. They also liked sitting by the pool with friends during the day and going to Karaoke a couple of nights a week to listen their dear friend Marilyn sing. Gino was famous for always getting up at family events initiating a sing-along to “We Are family” and the rest of the family would join in while walking up to the stage where he was performing! GREAT TIMES!
In his later years Gino looked forward to watching the old westerns, Bonanza, Gunsmoke and The Big Valley. He also enjoyed watching the Patriots and was an avid Red Sox fan. He loved his wife’s cooking and always looked forward to dinner. But above all, Gino loved being surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren.  And how we all loved our husband/Dad/Beepa/Grandpa!
