Emilio "Mil" Spagnuolo age 93 of North Carolina originally from Waltham, passed away on May 2, 2022. He was a graduate of Waltham High School in 1946 and received his Bachelor of Science in Building Engineering and Construction from M.I.T. in 1950. He did 2-year basic ROTC at M.I.T. and enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1950. He graduated from the Massachusetts Military Academy, was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in 1954 and served until his honorable discharge in 1961. He began his career working for a construction company as Chief Engineer on projects as notable as the Sears Roebuck retail warehouse in Allston, Winthrop Elementary School and the construction of high tension power lines from Weymouth to Walpole. He was also the Field Engineer of the Edison Power Station in Weymouth. In 1952, he established Kingston Builders, a construction company specializing in land development and construction of quality homes. He built hundreds of homes in the Middlesex County area, a major development in Cape Cod, and also established the Goodlife Company later in his career, building a retirement community in Athol, MA. Always seeking to provide the best possible life for his family, he moved with his beloved wife, four sons, and two daughters to a house he custom built in Wayland, MA in 1967, where they were all fortunate to call home until the 1980’s. He moved to Florida after his retirement in 2009. Later moving to North Carolina to be closer to family.

Dear Nono to James & Dolores Alberico, David Alberico, Michael & Katie Alberico, Justin & Nicole Alberico, AJ Spagnuolo, Genevieve Spagnuolo, Nicole & Matthew Gallagher, Alison & Leah Spagnuolo, Katie Backman, Chris Backman, Cassandra Backman, Lauren Spagnuolo, Jamie Spagnuolo, Joseph Spagnuolo, and Lisa Spagnuolo. Great Grandfather to Anthony, Dasia, Aiden, Marie, Vincent, Sylvia, Bradley, Brianna, Vincenzo, Genevieve, and Giuseppe. Dear brother of Tina Cafarelli & her husband Jimmy.
Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate Emilio’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St. Watertown on Friday May 6, 2022 from 4 - 7 PM and again on Saturday at 8 AM followed by a 9 AM Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, 311 River St. Waltham. Burial to follow with Military Honors in Gethsemane Cemetery in Athol. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
