Eleanor Pacious Obituary

Eleanor 'Leanora' (Barbato) Pacious, of Watertown, died on March 2, 2024 with her loving family by her side. Born in 1927 and a lifelong resident of Watertown; she would have been 97 years old on March 28, 2024. Eleanor was the daughter of Cesare and Maria (Piantedosi) Barbato of Watertown; and the cherished wife of Francis Leroy Pacious, who passed away in 2007. She was pre-deceased by her sister, Evelyn Rice and her brothers, Alfred, Alvino, Arthur, Gerry and Albert. She leaves behind her 5 children, Rosemary Cooper (Stephan) of Watertown, Margaret Pacious of Watertown, Francis Leroy Pacious III of Florida, Jean Morin of Westford, and Michael Pacious (Gail) of Bridgewater; 11 grandchildren, Stephanie Einhorn (Jack), Renee Cooper, Amy Pitts (Randy), Francis Leroy Pacious IV (Katherine), Robert Pacious, Jennifer Fitzgerald (James), Edward Morin, Daniel Morin, Alexander Pacious, Lenora Pacious, and Mark Pacious; 7 great-grandchildren: Brianna Cooper, Michael and Jacob Einhorn, James Morin, Francis Leroy Pacious V, Gavin and Charlotte Pitts; cousin Brigida Giovinazzo and many loving nieces and nephews.
Eleanor graduated from St. Patrick High School in 1945 and went on to become an administrative secretary at Raytheon for five years. Eleanor married Francis on October 27, 1951. Eleanor adored her family; she relished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed preparing meals for her family almost as much as they enjoyed eating them. Eleanor was an avid planner when it came to hosting and holidays were eagerly anticipated by her family and friends. Eleanor was an amazing woman with too many talents to name. Anything she decided to do she did to perfection. Some of her favorite hobbies were crocheting, sewing, knitting and gardening. For many years Eleanor and Francis had abundant vegetable and flower gardens as well as several fruit trees which the whole family enjoyed. Eleanor was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. Patrick Parish for many years. She volunteered at St. Patrick High School, taught CCD for 12 years and was a member of the St. Patrick Women’s Sodality. She was a very supportive and involved mother in her children’s interests, including serving as a Girl Scout Leader for her youngest daughter.
Eleanor was admired by all and will be sorely missed.
