Eleanor Bernard Obituary

Eleanor (Wallace) Bernard, age 96 of Westwood, formerly of Watertown, passed away on September 3rd, 2025. Beloved wife to the late Edward Bernard. Loving mother of David Bernard & his wife MaryBeth, Linda Walsh & her husband Robert and Michael Bernard & his wife Michele. Cherished grandmother to David Bernard, Sarah Scott, Lindsey Barrett, Timothy Bernard, Kathleen Bernard, Benjamin Walsh & Maxwell Walsh. She is also survived by 6 great grand children: Claire & Caroline Bernard, Theo & Miles Barrett and Natalie & Lincoln Scott. Dear sister to the late Jacqueline Burke.

Eleanor was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose greatest joy in life came from the love she shared with her family. She had a sharp mind and a quiet determination which she nurtured through her passion for crossword puzzles and crafts projects that included creating Irish knit sweaters for all her  grandchildren without ever using a pattern.  Her hands were rarely still, always busy whether it was playing bridge, holding an ice cream cone or calling her family.  Eleanor also enjoyed fresh cut flowers, chocolate candy and lively conversations with her many friends.   Above all, she cherished the moments spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who were truly the light of her life.
Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate Eleanor's life by gathering for a visitation hour in the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St. Watertown on Monday September 8, 2025 from 10:30-11:30 AM followed by a 12 NOON mass in St. Patrick's Church, 212 Main St. Watertown. Burial to follow in Mount Auburn Cemetery.
