Eileen (Gallagher) Burke

          Eileen P. Burke, 66, of Lanesboro, MA, peacefully passed away on May 7, 2021 after a short, yet courageous battle with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease.
          Eileen was born in Adams, MA on March 1, 1955 to John and Ellen Gallagher. After graduating from Hoosac Valley High School in 1974, she pursued her Associate's Degree in Recreational Management from Berkshire Community College. She turned her passion for movement and wellness into her career and spent many years teaching and managing multiple fitness establishments in Berkshire County. Eileen later attended Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health where she became a licensed massage therapist. Her life was devoted to health and fitness, and she found joy in helping others to feel their best. She retired from Blantyre in 2018.
         Eileen was a free spirit who lived life on her own terms. Her smile and energy were contagious to everyone she met. As an avid adventurer, she could be spotted all over the county on any given day-running, hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing or kayaking, all with her husband Bruce by her side. They shared a passion for traveling together and spent many summer nights on the lawn at Tanglewood, enjoying live music with their notable picnic spreads. Her deepest pride was in her two children, Kaylee & Brandon. She was a devoted mother, wife, and friend who will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
         Eileen was predeceased by her parents, as well her siblings Kathleen Brightwell, John "Terry" Gallagher, Karen Lowry, Shaun Gallagher, and Kevin Gallagher. She is survived by her husband, Bruce Burke, of Lanesboro, MA, her daughter, Kaylee MacInnis (Christopher) of Arlington, MA, her son, Brandon Sorel of Sandy, OR, and her first grandson due this summer. She also leaves behind her brother, Brian Gallagher (Debbie) of North Adams, MA, her childhood friend/sister, Claudia Austin Curry of Pittsfield, MA, her former spouse and children's father, Joel Sorel of Cheshire, MA, many nieces and nephews, countless friends, and her beloved dog, Savannah.
         A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 23 from 1-4pm at Bloom Meadows, 2422 Hancock Road, Williamstown, MA, 01267. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks those to consider a donation to CJDFoundation.org.
