Daniel Evans Obituary

Daniel Evans, age 76, of Watertown, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. He was the beloved husband of 56 years to Elaine (Chartier) Evans. He was the loving father of Scott Evans and his partner, Erica Geis, and Shelli Barry and her husband, Chris. He was the cherished “Papa” to Evan, Jack, and Emily. Dear brother of William Evans and his wife, Lorraine, and Curtis Evans and his wife, Margie. He was also a dear brother-in-law to Donna Hodgson and the late Ken Chartier and his wife, Pat and dear uncle to his loving nieces and nephews.
Above all else, Dan cherished the time he spent with his family, his brothers, and his extended “EEGGS brothers,” creating friendships and memories that he treasured throughout his life. He had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing in Maine, gardening at home, and simply taking pleasure in nature—especially feeding the birds.
Dan was dedicated to his community and especially enjoyed giving his time to Watertown’s youth. He proudly coached Watertown youth hockey and baseball and spent many years participating in bowling and softball leagues, where he formed lasting friendships along the way. A lifelong Boston sports fan, Dan could often be found cheering on his beloved Bruins and Patriots.
Dan will be remembered for his kind heart, loving nature, and genuine ability to make those around him feel welcome. He was a devoted husband, father, Papa, brother, friend, and coach whose presence brought warmth and happiness to so many lives. His love, laughter, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Funeral services will be held privately by the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dan’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association MA/NH Chapter, 320 Nevada St., Suite 201, Newton, MA 02460.
