Chris Flieger of Watertown, MA passed away on December 15, 2023 after a short illness with kidney cancer which he fought bravely, surrounded by family, friends and loved ones.
Chris was born October 14, 1957 in Hartford, Connecticut. Loving son of the late Paul & Joanne (Mahoney) Flieger. He was raised in Canton (Collinsvlle), CT and graduated from Canton High School in 1975. He continued his education at Providence College, graduated in 1979 and later received his MBA at Suffolk University. He forged an impressive career in Boston, specializing in healthcare technology and communication.
He is survived by his brother Paul Flieger & his wife Mary, Jack Flieger & his late wife Linda, his sister Beth McAlpine & her husband Dan and his sister, Sheli Flieger. He was a cherished and adored Uncle to Caitlin, Dana & Brock Flieger, Carly & Lauren McAlpine, and Great Uncle to Anahi Flieger.
While at PC, he bonded with a group of friends that have remained close knit ever since. The same is true about his career; he made friends for life at ElizaCorp in Boston. Chris was an adventurer, whether it was hiking, skiing, running, skydiving, traveling or road trips. He was an avid tennis player, loved a good movie and giving to others. Rangeley Maine was his special place where he summered with family every year and eventually owned a camp with his siblings. Chris’s life was defined by his deep Catholic faith, his love of family and friends.
A sincere thank you to Chris’s community of friends and coworkers for their support and love throughout.
As a friend wrote ‘Peace, my friend – a hero’s peace you’ve earned.’
Chris’ funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Patrick’s Church, 212 Main Street, Watertown, MA on Thursday December 21 at 10am. Burial private.
