Antonio “Tony” G. Deodato, 63, of Westwood and Watertown, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Tony was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose quiet strength, dry wit, and generous spirit touched all who knew him.
Tony was the beloved son of the late Domenic and Emma Deodato and a longtime parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Watertown, where he sold newspapers outside of Mass and later served as an altar boy.
A proud graduate of Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, Tony dedicated his career as a pharmacist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Boston Children’s Hospital. He was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
Tony is survived by his loving grieving wife, Maryanne Fitzgerald; his cherished children, Stacey Sherman of Watertown and her husband, James, and Matthew and Sean Fitzgerald of Westwood. He was the beloved Nonno to James, whom he adored. He is the dear brother of Joe Deodato of Newton, and his wife, Teri. He also leaves behind Linda Deodato of Weston. Proud uncle to Daniel & Michael Deodato. Loving nephew to Josephina Frontera and Gerry Grandinetti. Beloved godson to Rose Mallard.
Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate Tony's life by gathering for visiting hours on Sunday March 29, 2026 from 2-6 PM and again on Monday March 30, 2026 at 9 AM followed by a 10 AM Funeral Mass in St. Patrick's Church, Watertown. Burial in Newton Cemetery.
