Anthony Merullo

            Anthony Alfred Merullo, age 83 of Sherborn formerly of Wayland & Watertown, passed away on November 29, 2020. Beloved husband of Aurelie (Flynn) Merullo and formerly married to the late Rita (Tocci) Merullo. Loving father of Fred Merullo & his wife Rebecca, Anthony Merullo & his wife Elena, Joseph Merullo & his wife Denise and step father of Judy Range & her husband Richard, John Greeley & his wife Georgette and Michael Greeley. Cherished ‘Pup’ to Joseph Jr., Daniel, Anthony, Christopher, Nicole, Jack, Austin, Ranita, Makenna, Mitchell & Mia. Dear brother of Christina Bagarella. He is also survived by his daughter in law Naline Merullo. Anthony was predeceased by his parents: Nicolina (Russo) and Alfredo Merullo of Watertown, Massachusetts. ​

               Anthony was a graduate of  BC High School and he then attended and graduated from Tufts University.  In 1963 Anthony started Metco Tile Distributors, a retail and wholesale ceramic tile company located on Arsenal Street Watertown. The company grew from this one location in Watertown to a second location at the Boston Design Center in Boston then to a third location in Natick, Massachusetts. The company now known as Tile Showcase has two locations: the original Watertown facility and the Boston Design Center Showroom. Tile Showcase is now owned and operated by sons Fred and Joseph. 
            Anthony was a founding member of Watertown Chamber of Commerce in 1974, became a Corporator of Watertown Savings Bank, a member of Ceramic Tile Distributors of America, member of Oakley Country Club. Also a long time Member of The Rotary Club of Watertown serving as President in 1995/1996.

            Family and friends are welcome to gather to celebrate Anthony’s life for a funeral mass on Thursday at 12 PM in St. Patrick’s Church, 212 Main St. Watertown, MA 02472. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
