Anne (Neville) Oates, age 78 of Arlington formerly of Watertown, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family after a long illness on November 24, 2024. Beloved wife to the late Thomas Oates. Loving mother to Philip Oates & his wife Biz LaRose. Cherished "Grandma Anne" to Ellen, Bobby & Sam Oates. Dear sister to Cecilia Neville and the late Trish Woodall, Philip & Nancy Neville. She also leaves behind her brother in law Jerry Woodall and her devoted caregiver Mariam Quarshie.
Anne was a dedicated educator, beloved traveler, and cherished grandmother. For 35 years, she touched countless lives as a math teacher at Watertown Middle School, inspiring her students with her passion for learning and her unwavering kindness. Her legacy as an educator will live on in the many lives she shaped. Beyond the classroom, Anne had a deep love for exploring the world, always seeking adventure and appreciating the beauty of new cultures and landscapes. She was blessed to have numerous lifelong friends that she loved visiting with and traveling with. Above all, she treasured her role as a grandmother. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she filled their days with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate Anne's life by gathering for visiting hours in the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St. Watertown on Sunday December 1, 2024 from 3-6 PM and again on Monday at 9 AM followed by a 10 AM Funeral Mass in St. Patrick's Church, 212 Main St. Watertown. Burial to follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
