Ann (Papalia) Foley, 91, of Watertown, MA and Duxbury MA passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.
Ann, the daughter of Angelo and Helen (Ferraza) Papalia, grew up in Watertown, MA, and after high school, she earned a degree from Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School where she learned the art of shorthand and became a key contributor to many executives in the booming computer era. Ann also spent some time as a stewardess with American Airlines during the glamorous, newly emerging era of commercial aviation.
Ann held a deep love and admiration for her predeceased, only brother, John L Papalia as well as her many beloved cousins in the Papalia and Ferraza families.
Ann‘s greatest accomplishment was her unwavering devotion to her three daughters, Deborah Otey, Elizabeth Friday (husband Timothy) and Sharon Stacy (husband Kevin). She frequently proclaimed she lived her life for them and would drop anything she was doing to support her girls. She particularly enjoyed her time with her daughter’s Brownie Troops and then later, traveling with them to Italy, Bermuda, England and many other destinations.
Through the years, her daughter’s families grew, and she was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren who she loved spending time with. In addition, she was thrilled with the arrival of her seven great grandchildren.
Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate Ann’s life by gathering for a visitation at Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St., Watertown MA on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 from 10 AM to 11:30 AM. A Funeral Home Service will follow at 11:30 AM. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Belmont Street, Watertown.
