Amedeo Sansevero

          Amedeo Sansevero, Age 95 of Watertown, passed away on January 27, 2022. Beloved husband of 76 years to the late Angela Rosa (Caniglia) Sansevero. Loving father of Rosemarie Arruda & her husband Nuno. Cherished 'Nonno' to Isabella, Juliana and Paulo Arruda. Dear brother of the late Dario and Francesco Sansevero. 

           Amedeo was born in Filetto, Italy. He had two older brothers. One was killed In WWII. He married his true love Angela Rosa. After the war he immigrated to Argentina for a better life. They both worked very hard and raised their daughter Rosemarie. After 20 years in Argentina they finally received the amazing news of embarking on a new journey. America here I come. So he packed his family and with only 3 suitcases and very little money he headed for the land of opportunity. He landed in NYC and decided that this wasn't what he wanted for his family and decided that Watertown would be the best place to be. Here he excelled. He worked construction, bought a house and grew his beautiful garden full of tomatoes. He loved bocce and was a great bowler. He worked day and night to achieve the American dream which he did. His family was the most important thing in his life. He was a great man to all that knew him.

          Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate Amedeo's life by gathering for Visiting Hours in the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St., WATERTOWN, on Wednesday February 2, 2022 from 4-7 pm, and again on Thursday February 3, 2022 at 9 am, followed by a 10 am Funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Parish. Entombment in Calvary Mausoleum.
