Rose Marie (Cavaretta) Altieri

              Rose Marie (Cavaretta) Altieri of Watertown, passed away on May 30, 2017. Wife of the late Angelo ‘Al’ Michael Altieri who passed in 1996, Rose was the 2nd of 5 children born to Frances & Alphonso Cavaretta. She was predeceased by her brothers Joseph, Alfred, Ronald Cavaretta and her sister Katherine Hession. Left to Cherish her memory are her two daughters Janet Drake and her husband Thomas Hall & Marilyn Scimone and her husband Dr. Francis Scimone. She is also survived by 23 adoring and devoted grandchildren and great grandchildren.

              Born on Prince St. in the North End, Rose lived in Watertown most of her life, and died peacefully while surrounded by the love of her family at the age of 104. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1931 and Burdett College in 1933. She was a creative crocheter, knitter, gardener and fantastic cook. In good weather Rose could be found working in the beauty of her garden that she and her husband created. She will be greatly missed by all who loved this amazing woman.

             Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Roses’ life on Saturday at 8 AM in the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St. Watertown followed by a 9 AM funeral mass in St. Patrick’s Church. Visiting hours Friday 4-7 pm. After cremation, private burial services will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Jimmy Fund, PO BOX 970025, Boston, MA 02297-0025.
