Mary (Herlihy) Russo

           Mary (Herlihy) Russo of Watertown and Boca Raton, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 14, 2018.
Mary’s passion was her family, both immediate and extended, who will miss her energy, excitement and infectious laughter. She was the heart of our family. She is survived by her loving husband David A. Russo to whom she was married for 51 years. Devoted mother to her daughter, Rosemary Garside and her husband Paul of Watertown, son David J. Russo and his husband Matthew McNeff of Watertown, and daughter Sister Elizabeth Francis (Linda) of Quincy (Daughters of Mary of Nazareth). She was a loving grandmother to Katherine Garside and Daniel Garside of Watertown.
           She was the daughter of the late John and Evangeline Herlihy and sister of the late Alice (Herlihy) Walker. She is survived by her sisters Joan (Herlihy) Kilcoyne and her husband John of Wayland, Linda (Herlihy) Placidi and her husband Maurizio of Norfolk, brothers John Herlihy and his wife Denise of Waltham, and David and his wife Martha of Auburndale. Her brother-in-law is David Walker of Duxbury. She leaves countless nieces and nephews.
           Mary was a proud graduate of Watertown High School class of 1962 and the Chandler School. She was the past President of the Cornelia de Gracchi Lodge, Sons and Daughters of Italy in America and a member of the Watertown Council of Aging.

           Family and friends will celebrate Mary's life by gathering for visiting hours in The Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St., WATERTOWN, on Monday November 19, 2018 from 4 - 7 PM and again on Tuesday November 20, 2018 at 8 AM followed by a 9 AM Funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Church. Burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
