Kenneth Chartier Obituary

Ken Chartier, a long time resident of Watertown, passed away on April 7, 2018 at the age of 70, surrounded by his family at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Kenny was born in Cambridge MA on January 7, 1948 and was the son of the late Ken and Peg Chartier. He was the beloved husband of 50 years to Pat (Levesque) Chartier. He was the loving father of Lynn Doucette and her husband Rich of N. Reading and Lori DiTullio and her husband Darren of Norwood. He was the very proud Papa to Jake, Erik, Nick, Kendra, Madi and Zach. He leaves his sisters Donna Hodgson of NH and Elaine Evans and her husband Dan of ME, his sister in laws Joan McHugh and her husband Jimmy of FL and Donna Igoe of Waltham. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and their families and many dear friends.

Kenny attended St. Patrick's in Watertown from grades 1 thru 12. He proudly served 4 years in the US Air Force and was stationed in Texas and Washington D.C. After serving he came back to Watertown to raise his family. He attended Mass Bay Community College and worked for Verizon for 30 years. After retiring from Verizon, he continued to do contract work for them for another 5 years.

Kenny's greatest love was his family. He cherished his role as 'Papa' and all the time he spent with his grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan and his passion was following all of the Boston sports teams. He always loved to travel with Patty and together they experienced many trips all over the US. He cherished the times that he spent with his life-long friends. He most of all enjoyed the family weekends in Maine each summer with his whole crew.

Kenny had an amazing sense of humor which will always be remembered and forever missed by all who knew him. He leaves a hole in our hearts, but we have many wonderful memories to hold on to.

Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate Kenny's life on Thursday April 12th, 2018 at 8 AM in the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St. Watertown followed by a 9 AM Funeral Mass in St. Patrick's Church.
