Gloria Taylor passed away in her 90th year of life on June 13, 2017 in her home on Willow Street in Waltham, MA. She was born on June 28, 1927 in Colon, Panama and came to Massachusetts in 1965. She worked as a bilingual secretary and translator for The William Underwood Company and the Arthur D. Little Consulting Firm.

Gloria was a happy soul who enjoyed life to the fullest and said yes to anything it had to offer. She especially loved to laugh, walk, dance, play bingo, go to the casino and George Strait concerts, have her hair done, travel, go out to restaurants, eat lobster and clam chowder, drink her apple martini’s or chivas, and eat ice cream every night. Gloria, also known as “Red Cross”, dedicated her life to especially helping her family. Her home was known as Taylor’s Inn and although she gave birth to only one child, Liz Taylor, she raised many of her nieces and nephews from abroad here. Additionally, some of her brothers and sisters would also stay at the Inn. Everyone was welcome. She is survived and will be missed by all her “children”, 3 sisters, Muriel, Luz, and June; 2 brothers, Jose and Jack; 4 sister-in- laws, Maruja, Micaela, Vilma and Evelia; a brother-in- law, Stephen, many nieces and nephews, several grand nieces and nephews, a great grandnephew and many many friends. She was predeceased by her 2 brothers, Rosendo and Domingo, and parents, Rosendo and Winnifred.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made in Gloria’s honor to any of the organizations and churches you love as she supported all of them OR to the MDA, ALS, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, Perkins for the Blind, Arthritis, and Heart organizations as they helped make her life more comfortable OR to Catholic TV, EWTN, and St. Jude’s Parish as they allowed her celebrate her faith daily. Thank you very much for all the kindness you gave, and the prayers and well wishes you sent for my mother, Gloria.
