Erasmo “Ray” Capobianco passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 5th, 2019. Formerly of West Newton, Ray was the Beloved husband of the late Rose Trasente Capobianco. He is now reunited with her to celebrate what would have been their 68th wedding anniversary in January.
Ray was a very lovable and giving person. He was so very proud of his family and his home in West Newton. He had various jobs working as a machinist. Most of his time off from work was spent doing improvements on his home and working in his garden. He loved sharing his vegetables with his family and neighbors. Most recently he lived in an Assisted Living facility where he was loved by all. He loved telling stories of his past life in Italy.
His most favorite person was his sister-in- law Jean. He would always say that “she saved my life”. He loved spending family time at her home enjoying her pasta and meatballs and was always sent home with a big dish because his wife never made pasta.
He leaves his sisters Gina Gallinaro of Gaeta Italy, Antonette DeFusco of Manchester, NH his late sister Maria of Gaeta, and his brother Nicola Capobianco of Somerville. His sisters-in-law Genevieve Trasente of St Paul’s, NC. His nieces Karen Scott of Somerville, Jean Capobianco of Somerville, Ann Capobianco of Somerville, Annette Trasente of Naples FL, Maria Viti of Tar Heel, NC, Judy Flint of Taunton, Patricia Paine of Derry, NH and the late Gail Pelletier of Little Compton, RI.
