Anna Cimino Obituary

Anna (Ippolito) Cimino, age 84 of Watertown, passed away peacefully on Monday December 30, 2019, in her home surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Beloved wife of the late Giuseppe ‘Joseph’ Cimino. Loving Mother of Maddalena "Lena" DeChristoforo & her husband Gerard, Giovanni "John" Cimino & his wife Kristine (Mullaney), Olga Box & her husband Jeffrey and Italia Marini & her husband Michael. Devoted Nonna to John, Laura, Colby, Olivia, Antonio, Adeline, Zackary, Dante, Gabriel and Anna. Dear sister of Nunzia, Lucia, Luigi, Antonio and Vincenzo.

Born into a loving family in Napoli, Italy, the daughter of a fisherman of the Bay of Naples, she adored her father and treasured her family.

Anna married Giuseppe Alfonso Cimino in 1955 and came to Watertown, Massachusetts in 1958, to begin her family life in America.

Anna was forever a model of generosity, selflessness, patience, and love. “Pazienza!” No-one could ever leave her home empty handed or hungry.  Over the years, Anna was a familiar site walking in Watertown with her kids, Giuseppe, and her friends.

She loved and adored her family; the heart and center of her life. There was never a more genuine smile awaiting her loved ones and friends entering her house, and never more joyful and contagious laughter. She was and will remain a true and special blessing to us all, and especially to her ten treasured grandchildren whom she loved beyond measure or words.

She helped her husband Joe build his successful business, Joe Cimino and Sons, and made expert use of the fruits of Joe’s beloved garden.  She loved the home they built together and filled it with unforgettable aromas; her delicious tomato sauces simmered on Sundays especially, with Canzone Napoletana playing in the background.

She loved people and was kind to EVERYONE; she was loved in return – She was and remains deeply admired, adored, and unforgettable.

Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Anna's life by gathering for visiting hours in the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main Street Watertown on Friday January 3, 2019 from 4-8 pm and again on Saturday at 8 am followed by a 9 am funeral mass in Saint Patrick's Church. Burial in Ridgelawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Watertown Boys and Girls Club, 25 Whites Ave, Watertown, MA 02472.

The following familiar words might well have been written of Anna:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.

[1 Corinthians 13:4-8 ]
