Nancy Bottaro

        Nancy Bottaro. Aged 98, died peacefully on September 4, 2016 at Sancta Maria Nursing Facility after a long struggle with dementia. Nancy was born on September 21, 1917 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of Pasquale Ciminello and his wife Maria. Nancy and her parents moved to Sicily as a young girl and in 1933 she married Antonino Bottaro. She returned permanently to the United States on February 24, 1954 to join her older son Dominic Bottaro. Her husband, Antonino Bottaro and younger son Anthony P. Bottaro joined her on November 25, 1954 in Newton Massachusetts. In 1964 the family moved to Watertown, Massachusetts where they still reside. Nancy and her husband made frequent trips to Sicily to visit the hometown of Spadafora and enjoy their time several months each year in the family home after retirement. Nancy’s husband Antonino Bottaro passed away in 1998. Nancy lived with her children until July 2003 and then at Sancta Maria Nursing Facility as her health declined.

        Nancy is survived by her two sons, Dominic E. Bottaro and Anthony P. Bottaro, along with their wives Grace Bottaro and Stefania Bottaro of Watertown, Ma. She also has four granddaughters and a grandson along with 6 great granddaughters and 5 great grandsons and a number of close friends. Funeral from the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St. WATERTOWN on Friday at 10 AM followed by an 11 AM Funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Church. Burial in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 PM.
