Marco DiGiovine

       Marco P. DiGiovine, 56, of Watertown, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016. Born in Sant’Eufemia a Maiella, Italy, Marco was the son of Domenico DiGiovine of Watertown and the late Maria (Pantalone) DiGiovine. He was the husband of 31 years to Deborah (Custer) DiGiovine.

       Marco spent his early childhood in Italy before moving to Massachusetts with his family in the 1960s. He was a 1979 graduate of Watertown High School and a 1981 graduate of Boston University.

      Marco was an exceptional athlete, captaining the Varsity Basketball team at Watertown High and playing softball with several different leagues and teams for over thirty years. Marco was a devoted and loving husband, father, and friend, and throughout his eight-year battle with cancer was the true epitome of strength, dignity, and bravery.

     Besides his wife and father, Marco is survived by his children, Sarah DiGiovine of Fairfax, VA and Christian DiGiovine of Bellingham, MA, and his brothers, Tony DiGiovine of Jupiter, FL and Bruno DiGiovine of Ann Arbor, MI. He also leaves behind his aunt and many cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, teammates, and loving friends.

    Family and friends are all welcome on Thursday December 15, 2016 at the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St. Watertown at 8 AM followed by a 9 AM Funeral Mass in St. Patrick's Church, 212 Main St. Watertown. Entombment in Calvary Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Wednesday December 14, 2016 from 4 - 7 PM.
