Julianne Elaine (Gates) Rizzo

Julianne Elaine (Gates) Rizzo, 56, of Milford, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family and friends on Wednesday February 22, 2017. She leaves her beloved husband Richard after 30 years of marriage, sons Jason and Dylan, and Siblings Howard Gates & his wife Sue of Harwich, Valerie Healey & her husband Carl of Burlington, Ronald Gates of Waltham, Laurel Barden & her husband Lee of Wilmington and Beverly O'Rourke & her husband Marty of Woburn. Predeceased by her parents Howard & Gloria Gates and mother in law Jennie Rizzo. She will also be missed by her father in law Ben Rizzo and many nieces, nephews and family friends. Having worked in the Milford Public School system for 19 years, she took much joy in instilling her knowledge and virtues in her students. the epitome of selflessness, Julianne had an unparalleled potency of love for family and friends. She was an avid bird lover. Julianne also enjoyed visiting the Maine seacoast, and one of her favorite places, Nubble Light in York, Maine. She loved taking family vacations to Lake George, NY and walking the Marginal Way in Ogunquit, Maine. Julianne took much pleasure in reading, teaching and providing students with a mother figure who otherwise would not have one. Visiting hours for Julianne will be held in the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St. Watertown on Saturday February 25th from 2 - 6 PM. A funeral home service will be held at 5 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Dana Farber/Brigham and Womens Cancer Center, 20 Prospect St., Milford, MA 01757.
