Barbara Jean (Strathie) Conti

Barbara Jean (Strathie) Conti died in her 90th year on April 3, 2017. Born May 31, 1927, was the daughter of Duncan G. Strathie and Catherine McNeil Strathie in Cambridge. She was married 56 years to her loving husband Anthony J. Conti until his death in 2005. She worked along side with Tony. At Conti Jewelers in Cushing Square. Retiring to Naples Florida, they enjoyed golfing and daily sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico together. Upon his death, she spent the last eleven and 1/2 years being lovingly cared for by her son in Charlotte NC. Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother Donald G. Strathie of Eastham. She leaves behind her son, Kenny Conti and wife Kathy in NC, daughters; Carole Bell in RI, Linda Wilkinson and husband Bob in GA, and Barbara Cannistraro in CO. She was Nana to 7 grandsons and 1 granddaughter and 3 great-grandsons. She also leaves behind many friends and relatives in Massachusetts, Florida, and at Carrington Place where she was loved by many residents and staff on 200 Hall. This will continue the joy she gave to others in her last days.Visiting hours for the Conti Family will be held in the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St. Watertown on Monday from 11AM-1PM followed by a Funeral Home Service celebrating her life at 1 PM. Burial will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery beside her loving husband.Memorial donations can be given to your local Alzheimer’s Group and the gift of your time spent with someone in a nursing home or long term care facility.
